It is an exciting step forward as we continue our mission to provide high-quality education that balances rigorous academics with daily physical fitness and character development.

If you are researching quality schools or looking for a safe learning environment for your child, Cincinnati Performance Academy (CiPA) offers a proven model for success. We build on the incredible 20-year legacy of our sister school, Mt. Healthy Preparatory and Fitness Academy, bringing two decades of excellence to a new neighborhood.

A Legacy of Excellence Across Ohio

Cincinnati Performance Academy isn’t just a new school; it is the newest member of one of Ohio’s longest-running and most successful charter school networks. Performance Academies now operates 19 schools across the state, serving thousands of families who want more than what a traditional public school can offer.

What does it mean to be part of this network? It means your child is supported by a system that has spent over 20 years refining the perfect balance of “Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds, Healthy Futures.” Our organization’s proven track record includes helping students secure scholarships to top-tier private high schools and consistently outperforming state expectations in core academic growth.

Why Choose Cincinnati Performance Academy?

CiPA, we believe that academic mastery is essential, but it isn’t the whole story. To prepare a student for life, you have to educate the whole child.

1. Rigorous Academic Instruction

We don’t just meet standards; we aim to master them. Our curriculum features an extended school day, providing over 100 additional hours of learning every year compared to traditional schools. We use “Double Blocks” for English and Math (reading, writing, and arithmetic) to ensure that every student truly understands the material before moving on.

2. Daily Fitness Program

We are famous for our 1.4-hour daily fitness requirement. Every single day, our scholars participate in structured athletics, including:

  • Martial Arts (building discipline and focus)
  • Soccer (fostering teamwork)
  • Tennis (improving hand-eye coordination)
  • Structured Fitness (promoting lifelong health)

Research shows that physical activity isn’t just good for the body: it’s a “brain break” that resets a student’s focus, making them sharper and more engaged in the classroom.

3. Character Education

Success in high school and beyond requires more than just good grades. It requires integrity. Every morning, our students engage in a 30-minute character education lesson. These sessions focus on core values like responsibility, respect, kindness, and perseverance. We don’t just tell students to be “good”: we teach them the practical habits of a leader.

4. A Safe and Structured Environment

Safety is our top priority. We maintain small, supportive classrooms where every teacher knows every student’s name. We have a strict no-tolerance policy for bullying, ensuring that every child feels secure enough to take risks in their learning. If you are seeking a safe learning environment, you will find it at 4100 Reading Road.

Transforming the Former Dohn Facility at 4100 Reading Road

The site of our new school is more than just an address; it is a community landmark that has been thoughtfully reimagined. The facility at 4100 Reading Road has undergone extensive renovations to create a modern, bright, and inspiring space for K-8 learners.

From upgraded classrooms with the latest educational technology to dedicated spaces for our signature fitness programs, every square inch of the building is designed to support our mission.

Preparing for the “Next Step”: High School Readiness

One of the most common questions we hear from parents is: “What happens after 8th Grade?” At Cincinnati Performance Academy, the answer is “Success.”

Our High School Readiness Program is a cornerstone of the Performance Academies experience. We provide dedicated coaching for 8th graders and their families to help them navigate the transition to the best high schools in the region. This includes:

  • Admissions assistance for competitive private schools.
  • Guidance on securing financial aid and scholarships.
  • Intervention and tutoring to ensure every student is performing at or above grade level before graduation.

Our alumni frequently attend top-rated private and parochial high schools, often entering with full or partial scholarships thanks to the foundation they built with us.

Building on the Success of Mt. Healthy

The opening of Cincinnati Performance Academy is a direct result of the long-term success of our first Cincinnati campus, Mt. Healthy Preparatory and Fitness Academy (MHPFA). For 20 years, MHPFA has been a staple of the community, proving that a tuition-free charter school can deliver elite results.

By opening a second location on Reading Road, we are making this high-quality option accessible to even more families. Whether you live in Avondale, Northside, or Bond Hill, tuition-free public schools with this level of athletic and academic integration are now closer than ever.
