Our Transition Program helps 8th graders leave Columbus Preparatory and Fitness Academy fully prepared for high school academically, socially, and emotionally.
We guide families through applications, test prep, and interviews, helping students earn spots and scholarships at some of the top high schools in Ohio.

Performance Academies will be participating, and this is a great opportunity to explore K–12 schools from across the region while celebrating school choice together as a community.

In 8th grade science, students first learned about the different parts of a microscope and how each part is used correctly and safely. After becoming familiar with the microscope, students practiced setting it up, focusing the lenses, and adjusting the light.
Next, students used the microscopes to observe plant and animal cells. They learned how to prepare slides, begin with low magnification, and carefully focus to see cell structures. Students identified and discussed key parts of plant and animal cells.
This hands-on activity helped students build important science skills, including careful observation and proper use of scientific tools!

For the week of December 15, the Golden Shoe Award at Columbus Preparatory and Fitness Academy goes to Ms. Steven’s 3A class! They were excellent all week, and we had a lot of fun learning new skills together. Every student was fully engaged in the activities, competed with enthusiasm, and showed great effort throughout the week. We hope to have many more days like this—great job, 3A!
