Our Transition Program helps 8th graders leave Columbus Preparatory and Fitness Academy fully prepared for high school academically, socially, and emotionally.
We guide families through applications, test prep, and interviews, helping students earn spots and scholarships at some of the top high schools in Ohio.

To close out Black History Month, Ms. Sunny’s ELA class took a meaningful deep dive into the life and legacy of Maya Angelou through detailed biography reports.
Students explored her impact as a poet, author, and civil rights advocate — examining not just her accomplishments, but the resilience and strength behind her words.
One quote that stood out to our scholars:

What a powerful reminder for our students as they continue to grow in confidence, character, and voice. We are proud of the thoughtful work our ELA students put into honoring her legacy and reflecting on how her message still inspires today. ✨

Our students are all currently in the midst of take the Ohio English Language Proficiency Assessment, a series of four tests that show their growth in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. This year, the ESL team has started a series of raffles that give each student one chance to win prizes of their choice for every test they complete. Names are drawn weekly, and we feel it has helped motivate and keep students engaged while testing.
Expanding Student Language Skills 📚
Our students have received valuable support from the Kingdom Knowledge Foundation. With their donation our 6th and 7th grades students will continue enhancing their vocabulary and dictionary skills. Dictionaries are more than just reference books - they are powerful learning tools that unlock the potential of language. By mastering dictionary skills, students develop critical research abilities, improve their communication, and gain deeper understanding of word meanings, spellings, and contextual usage.
This collaborative effort demonstrates our commitment to providing students with comprehensive language learning resources that support their academic growth and communication skills. 🔍
