As we head into this historic Independence Day weekend, we’re reflecting on what it means to build a lasting legacy. At Performance Academies, our mission goes beyond the classroom to prepare our scholars for a lifetime of leadership and service.
That’s why every single day includes 30 minutes of dedicated Character Education. By focusing on the core values of responsibility, respect, and kindness, we are helping our young stars grow into the responsible citizens who will shape the next 250 years of our nation’s story.

Here at South Scioto we understand athletics is more than just how fast, strong, and quick you are. For us, words like determination, attitude, and desire are among the most important. Being an athlete is more than being athletic, and from the first day of school this student has been all of the above. Every day he comes to school with a desire to learn and grow while maintaining a joyful attitude. Whether it be Martial Arts, Soccer or Tennis, Meko tries his best to learn and we are honored to award him with The Athlete of the Month for May.
Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice made our freedoms possible, and we are grateful for their courage and commitment.

The ice cream truck was a HUGE hit with our 8th graders during their visit to the future home of Columbus Performance High School East! 🍦🎓
Students had the opportunity to get their first look at where our 9th and 10th grade students will learn, grow, and build the foundation for their future next school year. The excitement is real, and we can’t wait to welcome our high school students this fall. ❤️

The Golden Shoe Award at South Scioto Performance Academy for the week of May 11th, 2026 goes to our Tennis Tournament Participants. This group of students athletes may have not placed as well as they wanted but they won something so much more important, a love and desire to play the game. We here at South Scioto Performance Academy are so proud of the work they’ve put in this year and cannot wait to see them next school year.

The Golden Shoe Award at South Scioto Performance Academy for the week of May 4th, 2026 goes to Ms. Qualls Kindergarten grade class. This week in fitness these kindergartners have been hard at work getting ready for our state tennis and soccer tournaments in two weeks time. For soccer, shooting and dribbling drills are a constant and in tennis the students love hitting forehand winners. As we approach the end of the year, we can’t help but look back and be in awe of how much progress these students have made. We here at South Scioto are so proud to have such a great group of kindergarteners!
