Principal's Message
Welcome Prospective Parents/Guardians and Students!
Thank you for considering Fort Myers Preparatory & Fitness Academy (FMPFA) the academic provider to meet your child's needs.
FMPFA is proud to announce that our students have earned a Florida Schools A+ rating as we enter our fourth year and will be providing academic services to children from Kindergarten through 8th grade. We are especially proud of our 4th grade class on their 100% pass rate in Florida Writes during the 2010-11 school year.
At FMPFA it is our goal to serve the students who are enrolled and to support them through their academic endeavors. In order to accomplish our mission we begin our instructional day at 8:00 a.m. and continue structured academics and fitness through 4:00 p.m. Not only are our hours convenient for parents, the extended school day provides tremendous academic advantages for our students. Our low student-teacher ratio (18:1 and 22:1 in 4-8) allows for greater teacher student contact, which provides a greater degree of individual and small group instruction and learning for our students. Our martial arts program provides our children with the self-confidence, self-respect, and self-discipline needed to be successful, productive members of society. All FMPFA teachers are certified by the Florida Department of Education and have received additional certifications in their specialty area. Factoring in these key elements, I firmly believe that our community school, our program, and our school-family environment are among the best in Lee County!
Our intensive 1300 hours of academic instruction compares to the 900 hours of instruction that the traditional public school provides. Our program focuses on the core areas of proficiency: Reading, Writing, Math, Science and Social Studies in addition to Character Education. Every student receives 120 minutes of reading/language arts instruction and activities, 90 minutes of math instruction and activities, and 90 minutes of science and social studies instruction and activities daily. In addition, based on research that has proven that the more physical fit and active a person is, the more readily they acquire and retain knowledge and information, each student receives 75 minutes of physical fitness/martial arts instruction every day. Our students gain invaluable skills as we instill in them the essential life-long health and well-being skills.
Additional questions can be addressed individually by calling 239-333-0766. We look forward to the opportunity to help your child learn skills and knowledge that will propel them into a successful future.
Sincerely,
Susanne Bisplinghoff, Principal
